Oh boy! That’s the only thing I could say about the amount of fun I had at the Orlando Home Show this weekend at the Orange County Convention Center. I never would have dreamed the type of buzz our booth received and the amount of orders that are already being placed.
I had to ask myself, why?
Is my sales team that good? Was our booth particularly aesthetically pleasing? Was it because we were right by the Sham-Wow guys?
Wrong (even though they’re pretty good), wrong (even though it looked nice), wrong (even though those guys can surely talk)
The answer is that when people come and touch and feel the quality of cabinet we’re providing for the price we’re providing it for, the cabinet sells itself. We let the product run its mouth for us.
There were some very nice looking cabinet booths at the show, and some really attractive product lines, but when you touch the cabinets you can’t help but realize that particle board and pressboard feels like plastic. I gladly step up and give my line of cabinets a nice hard punch, because the noise you hear is solid wood.
I’m in the building material supply business for one reason. I want to build things that last. I was in Rome a few months ago, and something hit me really hard. I was looking up at the ruins of The Coliseum and the Pantheon and it hit me. I sell wood, marble, and granite, and I want my structures to be looked upon by future generations. That’s my goal. I want people to pick what they love, install it, and then forget it for the rest of your life.
Why would I want to place a particle board cabinet in someone’s home?
So that five years down the line they search out another cabinetry line that will last more than the one they installed previously?
No!
I provide all-wood sturdy cabinetry for a reason; I want to have pride in everything I install in anyone’s home.
It’s my goal to be able to go home to my family with pride over what I provide people, and I’m happy to report that when I go home and hug the little ones, I can tell them that I helped people. That’s why I guarantee my products, and that’s why my product sells itself for me.
Thank you all for coming out to the Orlando Home Show. We’ll see you guys in Ft. Lauderdale in November and make sure you visit the Remodel Solution showroom that’s closest to you. You guys,

Have you ever noticed that in any family gathering, party or any other social situation that occurs in your home everyone always seems to wind up in the kitchen? I Think It's Finally Time for you to Start Thinking about that New Kitchen...
I'm the lucky guinea pig this week.
The kitchen is the most pivotal part of your house. Besides its basic function as a place to prepare your foods, it is also a place where the whole family can get together to share good times and good appetite. For this reason, it is necessary to have a main eating area that is functional and at the same time stylish and pleasant to be in. People tend to think that designing a kitchen is much more complicated that it really is. The truth of the matter is that there are plenty of designs to get inspirations from and with a few handy tips, you’ll be well on your way to designing your own dream kitchen.
The most important aspect of kitchen design is utilizing the space you have. A kitchen that is functional does not have to depend on just the kitchen floor blueprint where everything has to be crammed into small corners to make use of all the space available. One simple but efficient strategy is to create an island in the middle of the room. This makes the most out of smaller spaces by allowing for more storage area as well as giving useful work space. As the island stands in the middle of the room, this gives you more room to move about your kitchen.
With a little ingenuity you can even add a breakfast bar feature in your kitchen island design. When you talk of island design, there might be just two shapes that will come into mind, the shapes of square and rectangle. Fortunately, you’re not limited to the two shapes alone. Why not try a round island? Is this too scary? This design can help break monotony as long as you keep it with your floor design.
Luckily, the appliance industry has kept up with the times an offer an extensive array of appliances made specifically for smaller kitchens. There are refrigerators you can get that are only 24 inches deep, something that is amazing considering you can now have a fully functional fridge that lines up flush with your counter tops. Of course, there are also the ever present microwave ovens that you can fit onto the worktop just under the hanging cabinets. To economize the space more, you can hang your precious pots and pans on a rack above the kitchen island. Not only are you cutting down on space, this would also make the pots and pans more accessible when it's time to fry up some eggs in the morning. Cooking utensils, cooking gloves and other cooking necessities can join the pots and pans above. This will leave ample space for all the vanity oven mitts you can buy.
Lighting is also one of the most important aspects in a kitchen design. The right lighting will make a small space look huge. Lighting designs are in abundance and you don’t have to designate a plain looking fluorescent strip light to your kitchen. There are also dimmer switches available which would really come handy during the times that you would want to create a lay back type of mood. What comes to mind is when my mother or father would wash dishes in the evening time with partial lighting.
There are many more basic tips you can get from the Internet or architectural magazines. When you design a kitchen, make sure that you have properly outlined everything you want to be able to turn your dream kitchen into a reality.
